The Trafford Centre España is a shopping mall based on the outskirts Torremolinos, near Malaga in the south of Spain.
The 243,000m2 shopping centre will be part of a mixed use site developed by property and investment group Peel Holdings, owners of Manchester's Trafford Centre. The centre will serve the Costa de Sol area.
Arup is providing the structural, MEP and civil design services as well as fire engineering and façade consultancy.
The new development will comprise a shopping mall and space for public entertainment. The building consists of six levels, ground and first floors for retail, third floor for cinemas and restaurants and three underground parking levels.
The building design is based on the original Trafford Centre in Manchester. Broadway Malyan is the project architect.
