Vattanac Golf Resort

  • Developing two 18-hole championship golf courses (Nick Faldo Design) with hotel, retail, luxury residential and recreation facilities
  • A contemporary expression of the Khmer tradition of 'hydraulic cities'
  • Setting new standards for quality and innovation in Cambodia

With its premier location and design, the Vattanac golf resort development is expected to make a remarkable change to the golfing standard and popularity in Cambodia, while serving as a draw to visitors from home and abroad.

Sitting on the outskirts of Phnom Penh, the development includes two contrasting Nick Faldo designed 18-hole golf courses, residential villas, a resort hotel, retail centre, international school and a number of sports and recreation facilities.

Arup was involved in the concept design and provided civil, structural, geotechnical, utility planning and traffic consultancy services to realise the masterplan vision of the architect.

The complex is a contemporary expression of the tradition of 'hydraulic cities', with all settlements based on and around water. The buildings, with full access to the waterfront, are clustered together to create pedestrian scaled courtyards and waterfront promenades.  Designed to the highest standards with both amateur and championship length holes, the golf courses are capable of hosting international tournaments and high level events.
