Our second Amsterdam Penguin Pool event brought together an inspiring mix of people to experience the theme 'do it yourself'.

The Penguin Pool is a global series of events developed by Arup to inform, inspire and entertain. Over 120 guests were welcomed in the former luggage hall of Amsterdam's maritime heritage building, which was transformed into an indoor festival setting, taking things back to nature and the idea of 'do it yourself'.

The evening was kicked off by our special guest 'the Iceman', Wim Hof. While he still finds a challenge in improving his current physical performances, he sees his new challenge in passing on his method to others to give everyone the opportunity to reach out and do more than what they thought they were capable of.

To get the visitors 'doing it yourself', the evening provided several workshops. Creative Chef offered edible flowers and bugs in an alternative food experience. There was a beekeeper speaking about his profession and Cirque Gastronomique picked people from the crowd for a culinary adventure of creating a dessert using nitrogen. Radio Barkas, the smallest mobile radio station, spiced up the evening with vintage tunes.

All attendees were invited to do their own photo shoot in a mobile booth, leaving with a fun memory of a successful and inspiring evening.
