Fiona Cousins named chair-elect to USGBC board of directors

As chair-elect, Arup Fellow Fiona Cousins will support and advance the mission, vision, and values of USGBC.

Fiona Cousins, PE, CEng, LEED Fellow has been named chair-elect by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) board of directors. With a career based on the twin pillars of resource-efficient design and an understanding that collaborative, interdisciplinary processes are the best way to achieve this, Fiona will help further the movement toward a sustainable future.

The responsibilities of the chair are to facilitate discussion among board members, guide the board in its legal, strategic, and fiduciary duties, chair meetings, and maintain appropriate communication between the CEO and the board.

Fiona’s volunteer leadership experience is wide and varied, including roles in organizations such as the Urban Green Council, the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation, and the Architectural League of New York.

She joined Chair Marge Anderson of the Energy Center and Immediate Past-Chair George Bandy of Interface on 1 January 2015, when she began her three-year term as chair elect, chair, and immediate past chair.
