By signing the DBFMO-contract between Central Government Real Estate Agency (Rijksvastgoedbedrijf) and consortium InBalans, a public-private partnership (PPP) started for the new courthouse building in Breda.

The building is being designed by de Architekten Cie. in close collaboration with Paul de Ruiter Architects. Arup has been signed up for the structural design, building physics and fire safety. The consortium InBalans includes VolkerWessels, Facilicom and Macquarie Capital Group.

The collaboration between the Central Government Real Estate Agency and the consortium aims to realise a new place for the regional organisations of the courthouse, the Public Prosecutor and the Child Care and Protection Board. For reasons of independence, the offices and public facilities of these three organisations will be separated. Other utilities, such as the entrance, security and the reception, will be shared.

Key to the assignment is to create an attractive, contemporary building, a cohesive whole for three particular recognisable organisations.

The building will be built near the trainstation of Breda and is expected to be opened in 2018. Watch a short video impression of the new building.
