The new building for the Saxion University for Applied Sciences officially opens its doors this week.

Located at the former Nature Museum, four buildings have been built around the renovated villa to form an extensive and unique urban development. This is the second location of Saxion which has been designed by the team of IAA Architects, Arup and ABT. In order to enable innovation, Saxion has deliberately chosen to work with a fixed design team.

'The big real estate program enables Saxion to exceed the project boundaries and innovate step by step. This is a unique approach to the building sector, which is normally very project oriented'. Hans Wichers Schreur, Director Real Estate, Saxion

As it was not possible to house the required amount of m2's in one large building, the new housing is designed as a collection of buildings, connected via foot bridges and the communal space below ground level.

Our services concept is characterized by high levels of comfort and low levels of energy consumption, which has an excellent air quality as a result and enables a flexible use of the space.
