Arup is working with Lendlease to create an exemplar Collins Street office building within a landmark precinct-style mixed-use development in the city’s new commercial heart.

Featuring activated day/night public realm with full amenities, the development will promote interconnectivity of co-tenants via a shared Skypark between buildings above Collins Street.

“Arup has built an impressive position as a leader in commercial property design and thinking in the Melbourne market. Our success has led us to outgrow our current space and we now need a building which is responsive to this growth and demonstrates our thinking.” said Joseph Correnza, Arup Melbourne Office Leader.

“Together with Lendlease, we have brought our shared design aspirations to this landmark precinct through what has been a truly collaborative design process between Lendlease, Arup and Denton Corker Marshall. Fundamental to this is our drive to bring key sustainability, workplace, wellbeing and innovative construction efficiencies into an integrated building design setting the standard for smart construction, making this a benchmark project for both Australia and overseas. In particular, we would like to thank Lendlease for their flexibility and responsiveness in adapting to our unique requirements”, said Dr Correnza.

Managing Director of Lendlease’s Urban Regeneration business in Australia, Jonathan Emery said “We are delighted to welcome Arup to Melbourne Quarter. This is a unique opportunity that will deliver state of the art facilities and services for their most valuable asset, their people.

The design of One Melbourne Quarter includes flexible and efficient workspaces and the broader project will offer Arup employees a vibrant mix of Collins Street amenity and innovative open spaces. Its location will equate to a premium user experience unmatched in Melbourne.”

“Our Melbourne office is currently working on major residential, hotel, retail and commercial developments (new and major upgrades) in the CBD including the Rialto Regeneration, 888 Collins Street, 367 Collins Street redevelopment, 477 Collins Street, 97 Franklin Street, 664 Collins Street, Langham Hotel redevelopment, and 180 Flinders Street” said Dr Correnza. “This project builds on our strengths and experience in the Melbourne market, and we look forward to realising an exciting future workplace vision for our staff, our clients and collaborators.”

The new building was assessed in line with Arup’s Regional Workplace Design Guidelines co-developed with HASSELL - a process also being used to guide the design for the future Arup Sydney workplace at 151 Clarence Street.
