Arup is collaborating with the Green Building Council Brazil Technical Committee to further develop the Referencial GBC Brasil Casa.

The Referencial GBC Brasil Casa certification program — a tool providing guidelines to sustainably design, build, and operate buildings — was initially developed by the Green Building Council Brazil Technical Committee, a group comprised of professionals, educators, and public officials.

Inspired by LEED’s expertise and recent presence in the Brazilian market, Arup is facilitating improvements to the Referencial GBC Brasil Casa certification program, which is now able to certify residential buildings in addition to houses. The improved system should result in more sustainable practices in Brazil’s civil construction industry.

The Referencial GBC Brasil Casa fills a market demand. This tool will assess the several typologies of residential developments through calibrated parameters by working professionals in our market. We are now assisting in the development of this first certification system applied in big residential buildings.
