Associate Principal, Americas South Aviation Leader

Hussein Moussa is the Americas South Aviation Leader and an Associate Principal in the Houston office. He has over 22 years of experience in building services design focused on resiliency and sustainability solutions, as well as building engineering design, analysis, and construction delivery. Bringing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) expertise to aviation projects, Hussein leads large multidisciplinary teams in the successful delivery of large airport terminal projects across Texas and beyond. 

Hussein’s knowledge extends beyond the typical design approach, with a focus on energy efficiency, assessment of existing building conditions, and planning as well as a mix of new construction, renovation, and energy retrofit work. Having joined Arup in 2005, his skills and experience in developing and leading complex multi-phase, multi-year projects are set apart by his proven communication and business skills. Hussein’s leadership is demonstrated through projects such as Mickey Leland International Terminal project at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston and the Barbara Jordan International Terminal Gate Expansion at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, as well as the development of the JetBlue terminal and delivery of an energy efficiency masterplan for Massport, both at Logan International Airport.
