Adam Jaffe leads Arup’s Materials business in the Americas and is based in New York.

His work focuses on the durability of major infrastructure assets, decarbonization of the industrial materials sector, and the transition to a circular economy. He is interested in advancing the use of novel materials in the built environment, and also studies the effects of extreme heat and the urban heat island effect.

Adam has led the durability design of rail and energy infrastructure projects across the United States and in Canada. He works with researchers and startups to commercialize novel materials and support their introduction in the built environment. He is a Professional Engineer licensed in New York and was named a ‘Rising Star in the AEC Industry’ in 2022.
