Chris is a Registered Ground Engineering Advisor (RoGEP) and Arup skills leader for ground engineering (UKIMEA Region). He is Arup energy geotechnics leader, coordinating all aspects of ground engineering in support of the energy transition.

As well as offering a strong track record of specialist ground engineering technical support, he ensures quality and consistency of deliverables, contractual performance and HSSE management at all times.  He has worked on all phases of project delivery, from early feasibility studies, concept development / optimization, detailed design through to construction. Also supporting live operations, through integrity management, enduring risk management, incident investigation and remedial works design.

He is an industry recognised geotechnical expert, including Chair of several technical working parties to provide industry best-practice guidance. He was Chair and Co-Editor of the highly successful SPE28 on ‘Engineering Geology and Geomorphology of Glaciated and Periglaciated Terrains’ and is currently Chair of two working parties on Site Characterisation in the complex Offshore and Coastal/Nearshore environments.
