Cormac leads Arup’s Property, Science, Industry and Technology, and Social Infrastructure business in the UK, India, Middle East and Africa. With more than 30 years’ international experience, he has led the design and construction of major award-winning projects, in multiple business areas, across the world.
He has a particular interest in the built form and the integration of architecture, engineering design and construction to deliver sustainable outcomes for people, organisations, society and the planet. His design leadership has delivered numerous world firsts and awards for pioneering and innovative designs across many building types and scales.
His international experience is extensive, having lived and worked in Ireland, England, France, Malaysia, Germany and the United States. During his time in the United States he developed and grew Arup’s successful multi-disciplinary and integrated design and consulting business in Seattle.
Cormac is a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland in recognition of his contribution and service to the industry.
