Jonathan Eisenberg is a Principal at Arup, based in the Boston office.  Jon has 37 years of fire and chemical engineering experience, combined with a chemical manufacturing & operations supervisory background (with ICI and Rohm & Haas).   

He is a nationally known expert in industrial, chemical, and laboratory hazard analysis and risk mitigation.  Jon combines his engineering and facility operations backgrounds to offer a unique blend of expertise to owners, facility managers, tenants, and design teams.

Jon supports clients in Arup’s Science, Industry & Technology (SIT) and Energy Businesses on new construction, renovation, and additions for manufacturing and laboratory projects, as well as ongoing chemical permitting, licensing, and risk mitigation issues.  He is the Science Business Leader for the AMR East geography and the AMR Chemical Engineering Skills Network Leader.

Jon holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Lafayette College, and a Master of Science in Fire Protection Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. 

Jon is a Principal on the Technical Committees for NFPA 45 (Labs) and NFPA 318 (Semiconductor Fabs).  He also serves on the Massachusetts Fire Code Hazardous Materials Committee and chaired a 2022 Task Group that drafted Laboratory Suite requirements for the MA building & fire codes.

Jon is a registered professional engineer (PE) in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
