Kirk is a renowned expert in applying advanced soil mechanics and numerical modelling techniques to complex geotechnical problems. Kirk’s geotechnical design experience includes deep and shallow foundations, seismic retrofits, ground improvement, slope stability, earthworks, liquefaction mitigation, deep excavations, and 3D numerical modeling of seismic soil-structure interaction (SSI). His field experience includes planning and carrying out site investigations with a variety of in situ testing techniques, performing geotechnical site characterization, construction monitoring, earthworks, ground improvement and deep excavations.
