  • Global Host Cities Leader

I am the leader of Arup’s Host Cities team, a specialist group focused on supporting governmental and sporting organisations during the bidding, delivery and legacy stages of major events. My role focuses on technical and delivery assurance for all stages of an event and providing government-government procurement advice.

With over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry, my expertise lies in the strategic design and delivery of high-profile, major events – from international sporting events to world expos. I aim to leave a lasting energised and sustainable legacy for cities hosting events and work with clients to realise their ambitions.

I worked on the delivery and legacy of the 2012 London Olympics, Ashgabat AIMAG 2017, 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, and 2022 FIFA World Cup™ in Qatar. I was the Technical Design Assurance Director for the UK Delivery Team (UKDT) supporting Lima 2019 and the Technical Design Assurance Director for the FIFA 2022 World Cup, Qatar.

I am also responsible for delivery of projects across a range of sectors primarily focused around public buildings in the sports and leisure sector.
