As Arup’s global geotechnics leader, Nick has worked on many projects around the world, including deep excavations in seismically active zones like San Francisco. 

He was responsible for the ground engineering of the entire length of the High Speed 1 rail project in the UK and is acting as a reviewer on the next one, High Speed 2.

He is also a visiting professor at the University of Southampton and has authored around 50 technical papers on ground risk assessment and management.

Nick has lived and worked in Italy and the US, and is now based in London.
