Kwu Tung Station has been awarded an Honourable Mention at the Autodesk Hong Kong BIM Awards 2024. As the design consultant of this project, this recognition underscores our commitment to excellence in building information modelling (BIM).

Located in the town centre of the future Kwu Tung North (KTN) New Development Area (NDA), Kwu Tung Station will serve as a public transport hub near the proposed residential, retail, leisure and community facilities, providing much convenience in commuting for residents in the existing communities and the future NDA. The project will help unleash the development potential of its surrounding areas, injecting new vitality into the community.

Kwu Tung Station is one of the first MTR projects to fully adopt a common data environment (CDE) and BIM from the outset. Utilising BIM and CDE to manage production of drawings, engineering analyses, and presentation materials for stakeholder engagement ensures a single source of truth across multiple disciplines within the accelerated schedule. BIM also enhances collaboration among stakeholders, improving communication and integration. It facilitates efficient planning and resource allocation, leading to potential cost savings. It promotes sustainability by assessing energy-efficient options, ensures regulatory compliance, and enhances safety by simulating construction processes.

Organised by Autodesk Far East Limited, the annual BIM Awards aims at recognising professionals and educators in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry, who are driving the industry’s transformation through the use of BIM and shaping it towards a more efficient and sustainable era.
