London 2012 Olympics: from inception, we provided engineering design, consultancy and​ economic advice in and around the Olympic Park site and our specialists continue to work to help ensure a strong legacy for this redeveloped area of London.​

We help clients to convert existing facilities into incredible event venues through creative, but practical, event overlay schemes – designed to provide operation efficiency, maintain security, and maximise commercial opportunity to the host - balancing the appropriate use of resources with the short-term need for the venue.

Beyond the venue, our teams have planned the safe movement of people, athletes, VIP’s and operational equipment around Games villages, around host cities and across host nations. Arup’s sports design team has deep experience of supporting events through planning and during use, often integrating a wide range of our specialist teams into LOC organisations throughout the event itself.
