Arup has been involved with the development of the British Library since 1975, when we were commissioned as part of a design team to prepare a feasibility study for a site in Euston Road.

In our cover article, authors Peter Ryalls and Tony Stevens provide an in-depth look at the library's development and Arup's role in this.

Other articles in this issue include: Tobacco Dock - the restoration and renovation of the 19th century warehouse in London Docks; Flue gas desulphurization study for UK Central Electricity Generating Board; Glasgow Garden Festival: Maritime Area and pavilions, UK; Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, UK.
