We begin with a focus on the National Museum of Australia and the Aboriginal and Torres Islander Institute of Studies in Canberra built on the Acton Peninsula. Arup provided structural and performance-based fire engineering consultancy expertise.

This issue also looks at a number of other projects including our voluntary work on a new 750 capacity school in India - Druk White Lotus School - which has been designed to have the lowest possible impact on the local environment and make use of local materials.

Moving to America, we look at work on Salt Lake City's Utah Oval, the world's highest altitude skating rink used for the 2002 Winter Olympics, and in Michigan we look at the creation of the Vietnam Memorial Monument.
