Projects from four continents feature in this issue of The Arup Journal. They cover a wide range of human needs and activities, including the arts, sport, leisure, commerce, industry, healthcare, education, accommodation, communications, and sustainability.

We explore the creation of HSBC's new Canary Wharf HQ in London which will be home to 8000 employees - which aims to be a 'work place of the future'. Moving to South Africa, we look at the design goals behind the Singita Lebombo tourist facility in Kruger National Park.

Focusing on our work in the USA, we examine our work on California's Robert and Margarit Mondavi Center at UC Davis, and the Simmons Hall residential block at MIT.
